Buckinghamshire community invited to share their views on data centre plans

Public consultation runs from 12 November until 17 December 2025

SDC Capital Partners, LLC (“SDC”) is consulting the community on draft proposals for a new data centre campus, including an energy centre, on a former mineral extraction site and landfill beside the M40 and the A40.

Located near Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield, SDC M40 Campus would deliver a new data centre, providing high-performance digital infrastructure to help address the UK’s data centre shortage and build secure data capacity. In addition, the proposals strive to improve local green space and enhance public rights of way by providing extensive landscaping, habitat creation, and places for the community to enjoy.

SDC is a US-based investment firm with a proven track record in the development and operation of data centres. The SDC M40 Campus project is being led by a UK affiliate of SDC, supported by a team of experienced professionals who are dedicated to engaging with stakeholders and the local community throughout the planning process.

SDC is inviting residents of Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, Hedgerley and beyond to view and comment on its proposals as part of a five-week public consultation, which will run from Wednesday 12 November to Wednesday 17 December 2025.

The consultation includes a series of in-person, drop-in events for members of the community to meet the project team, ask questions and share their views. An online event is also planned.

 All venues have suitable disabled access routes as well as car parking spaces. All materials are also available on the project website.

Written feedback from the public consultation will be carefully considered alongside technical and environmental assessments to help inform the evolution of proposals. A further stage of public consultation is planned for 2026, prior to the plans being finalised and submitted for planning consent.
